Deogarh means Godโs house and Baidyanath temple here is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga in India and is considered to be the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. Deogarh is situated in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. This place is also associated with legend demon king Ravana. It is said that Ravana worshipped Lord Shiva here to get boons. This is the place where the holy water of the River Ganga is considered more sacred due to its unusual flow northwards. Deogarh is famous for its Shravani mela. It is the longest Mela of the Asia and held every year between July and August. Millions of devotees flocked here during Mela from different parts of country. Devotees also bring holy water for the Linga to perform the holy bath Rudraabhishek. Another important and exciting attraction is Trikut pahar. Tourists can enjoy trekking here. Out of three, two peaks are accessible through trek. Tourist can also enjoy peaks through Ropeway. Nandan pahar is also famous spot. It is small hill on the edge of town which hosts a famous Nadi temple. Site also has temples of Parvati, Ganesha and Kartik. Site also has a water tank which supplies water to entire town. Tourists can also enjoy sunset and sunrise from this site.
