This gives Delhi NCR travellers a natural long weekend opportunity to experience divine atmosphere and celebrate the festival in Braj from 4 to 6 September.

Every year, lakhs of devotees come to Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul and Barsana for the birth of Shri Krishna, and all the transport (trains, buses, flights, cab) get booked out fast. You may also see huge increase in prices too. What you need is not another list of cab websites, but a clear sense of which option actually suits your trip.

This guide is written for travellers coming from Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad, Meerut, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly, Prayagraj, Gwalior, Jhansi and Moradabad because your city changes your distance, your fare, and your whole plan. Not sure which taxi option fits your Janmashtami plan?
Check Taxi Options
Why Do People Get Confused About Taxi Booking?

It happens mostly because too many websites show too much difference in prices for the exact same trip.

One site quotes Delhi to Mathura at ₹1,499. Another quotes ₹3,500 for what seems like the same sedan. The gap almost never comes from someone overcharging, it comes from what's included and what isn't.

Some quotes cover a one-way drop only. Others include the return leg.

Some bundle in toll, parking and driver allowance. Others tack these on later.

Festival-week prices are simply higher than an ordinary Tuesday.

People aren't sure if one cab can even cover Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul and Barsana together.

There's a second layer to this too. Someone in Lucknow is comparing a 6-hour road trip. Someone in Agra is looking at a 90-minute hop. Both type “taxi to Mathura” into Google and see wildly different numbers, and assume they're being misled. They're not as the cities just aren't the same distance away.

Once you know the two basic ways a taxi gets booked, and where your own city sits on the map, most of this sorts itself out.

What Is a One-Way Taxi Booking?

You pay for a single drop, from Point A to Point B, and that's the end of the taxi's job.

A one-way taxi takes you from your pickup city to your destination and then it's no waiting around. The driver often picks up another passenger heading back, which is part of why you only have to pay one-way fares saving upto 45%.

Example: Rohan, who lives in Dwarka, Delhi. He's flying out of Delhi on 6 September and just needs a drop from home to his hotel in Vrindavan on 4 September. He doesn't need the cab to hang around, so a one-way booking is right for him.

A one-way taxi tends to work well when:

You're travelling in only one direction on this trip.

You plan to fly, take a train, or book a separate cab for the return.

You want the lowest possible fare for a single drop.

You're being picked up from Delhi Airport, Noida, or Gurugram, not just central Delhi.

One-way vs Round-trip Taxi booking

What Is a Round-Trip or Package Taxi Booking?

The same cab and driver stay with you for the whole trip, including local sightseeing, and bring you back home.

A round-trip or package taxi is hired for a set number of days. It waits at each stop you decide temples, the hotel, the next town and takes you home once you're done. This is the natural fit for a multi-town visit covering Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul and Barsana.

The Sharma family of five, from Gurugram, is a good example. They want Mathura on Day 1, Vrindavan and Gokul on Day 2, and Barsana on Day 3, before heading home. One round-trip SUV or tempo traveller means one driver for the whole plan and nobody has to argue over a new cab at every stop.

A round-trip or package taxi tends to work well when:

You're visiting more than one town in the Braj region.

You're travelling with family, elderly members, or small children.

You want the cab waiting outside after the midnight Janmotsav darshan, ready to leave.

You'd rather stick with one driver who knows the route than switch cabs at every town.

One-Way vs Round-Trip: Quick Comparison

Before you compare, here's what the columns actually mean. “Waiting” is whether the driver stays parked while you're inside a temple or hotel. “Best for” is simply the kind of traveller each option suits best.

Here are a few common ones, from Delhi NCR and further out.

The Solo Devotee From Noida

Ankit wants to be in Mathura for the midnight Janmotsav on September 4th. He needs to be back home in Noida the same night. So, he needs a round-trip cab booked for about 10 to 12 hours. The driver will have to wait outside while Ankit is at the temple.

The Family Planning Three Days

The Guptas, a family of four from Gurugram, want to hit Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul, and Barsana over three days. They're planning to stay at a hotel in Vrindavan. Booking one round-trip SUV or Innova for the whole trip is way simpler than booking a new cab every single morning.

The Traveller Flying Into Delhi

Priya is flying into Delhi Airport from Mumbai on the morning of September 4th. She's heading straight to her hotel in Vrindavan and won't need the cab after that, since she'll handle getting around locally. A one-way airport-to-Vrindavan taxi makes more sense as a cheaper option.

The Day-Trip Group

Four college friends from Delhi want to see all four towns in one long day. They want to be home by midnight. What they really need is a round-trip cab booked with either an hourly or per-kilometre local package.

The Short-Hop Traveller From Agra

Meena lives in Agra, which isn't far from Mathura-just about 58-60 km, around a 90-minute drive. She doesn't need any kind of package deal. A simple one-way sedan drop on the morning of September 4th, followed by a separate cab back the next day, works fine for her.

The Long-Distance Family From Lucknow

The Tiwari family is coming from Lucknow, almost 400 km away, which is about a 6-hour drive. For such a long trip, they've booked a round-trip Innova. It includes an overnight halt, so they aren't trying to cram the entire thing into one exhausting day.

The Weekend Group From Jaipur

Five friends from Jaipur are also heading out. Their town is about 220 km away, a 4.5-hour drive. They plan to leave on the evening of September 3rd, catch the midnight Janmotsav on the 4th, and drive back on the 5th. A round-trip SUV should work well here, with the driver getting some rest locally overnight.

What Factors Affect Your Taxi Choice and Fare?

Eight things really decide your final taxi price. All these cities flow into the same corridor that is either the Yamuna Expressway or the NH19. You can actually plan a Same Day Round trip from any of these, provided you leave relatively early and make sure you are away from the cluster of Janmashtmi traffic around the Mathura town.

Meerut: A Slightly Longer NCR Run

Meerut is about an hour further out than Delhi. A same-day round trip is still possible, but it's a longer slog in the car. A lot of people traveling from Meerut end up preferring to leave the evening before Janmashtami and then come back the day after, instead of trying to cram it all into one go.

Agra: The Shortest Trip on This List

Agra is, by a good bit, the closest city on this list. You can actually get to Mathura in under 90 minutes. Most travellers from Jaipur and Gwalior prefer to do an overnight stay, arrive in Mathura the night before Janmashtami, and leave the following day.

Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad & Jhansi: Plan for an Overnight Halt

Prepare for an Overnight Stay These cities are about 4 to 6.5 hours away from Mathura with regular traffic conditions and are considered a little far for doing Same Day Round trip. The best bet here is to do an overnight stay. This trip generally takes 8.5-9 hours and most of us choose to have a night’s stop at Kanpur or Agra. Other option for many people is train to Mathura and then a cab from Mathura to the rest of the holy towns instead of driving 500 km stretch in one go.

Local Taxi Between Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul & Barsana

The good news about Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul, and Barsana is that they are all close to each other. The exact path might different based on where you're starting, traffic, and where in Mathura you're going to. If you're planning to go to Vrindavan, Govardhan, and some other nearby spot as well, the driver will probably need to know in advance to change the last leg of the journey.

Make sure to tell the taxi company your exact pickup spot when you book so there's no trouble in finding you. This way the driver can pick the best route and there will be less confusion when cab comes to pick you.

Delhi to Mathura Travel Time in a One-Way Cab

It usually takes 3 to 4 hours if traffic is good. If it's Janmashtami, a weekend, or another busy day, you will need more time because the roads around the popular temples are all packed with traffic jams. You should go early if you have a temple visit, hotel check-in, or train to catch scheduled on time. Give yourself more time for the trip when it's crowded and festival season.

Why One-Way Taxi Booking from Delhi to Mathura Makes Sense

A one-way taxi to Mathura is very good if that is your final stop and you don’t need a car to come back to Delhi or have some other plans. This also works if you are crashing there, meeting people, or heading off from Mathura. Compared to booking short local rides, a pre-booked one-way cab gives you a set pickup time and takes you door-to-door. You could get a sedan for a few people or an SUV if you need more space for people and stuff.

What Decides the Delhi to Mathura Cab Fare?

The cost for a one-way cab from Delhi to Mathura can vary. The mountains look amazing with completely waterlogged look to them and waterfalls begin to gush down their sides with full flow. Book flights, hotels or your cabs in between end September and October. What comes next is a stretch of clear mornings, low mist, and cool evenings that lasts pretty much until November.

The tea estates in Munnar get this really deep green color, streams that were bone dry in the summer start flowing again, and the forests in Wayanad just burst with new growth.

Hotels are usually cheaper then, too, not like the December peak season because the crowds haven't really shown up yet. The roads that get all slippery when it's raining hard are generally much safer to drive on by this point.

If you're looking at booking a cab for a hill trip in Kerala, this is also the time when local taxi guys have more cars available and are more willing to haggle on a package deal. That's before the year-end rush drives up prices and demand.

Munnar After the Rains: Tea Gardens, Waterfalls and Cool Weather

Places to visit in Munnar

Munnar's tea gardens are why most people go there, and after the monsoon, they look their absolute best. The slopes are freshly trimmed, the light is softer in October, and daytime temps usually don't get higher than the low twenties. It makes walking around the estates way more pleasant than in the middle of summer.

Places to Visit in Munnar in October and November

Eravikulam National Park: This is where you find the Nilgiri tahr, and the grasslands are super lush right after the rains.

Mattupetty Dam and Kundala Lake: The water's calm, with tea hills surrounding it. You could spend about two to three days in Munnar admiring the tea plantations. Then you can enjoy a pleasant roughly five-hours journey to Wayanad where two to three days would give you enough time to go for a trek, visit the caves and also see some wildlife. Some people attempt doing Munnar and Wayanad in four days but travelling on these mountains and winding roads (not to mention the waterfalls and view points where one must stop!!) is best enjoyed with proper time.

Practical Travel Tips for the Post-Monsoon Season

Carry a light jacket for Munnar evenings and a rain as occasional showers still occur in early October.

Check entry timings for Eravikulam National Park and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary as they change by season.

Book your cab or taxi at least two to three days ahead if you're travelling on a weekend in October.

Carry some cash for smaller local stops, as card acceptance can be a problem at remote viewpoints.

Ready to plan your Munnar and Wayanad trip?

Book your outstation cab with CabBazar today and travel both hill stations in comfortable, well-planned trip, reliable drivers. Everything You Should Know Before Booking a Taxi in India">
What is the real problem pet owners face?

Booking a normal taxi with a pet is stressful. Many drivers refuse the ride on the spot. Some cars have no real space for a carrier. Others quietly charge extra once the pet is already inside.

Real scenario 1: Take a dog owner in Delhi, for example. Booked a cab for the vet, driver shows up, sees the dog, and bails. Owner's stuck with a sick pet, no ride.

Real scenario 2: The cat owner in Mumbai heading to the airport. Driver agrees on the phone, then slaps on a "cleaning charge" at pickup with no mention of it before.

Real scenario 3: A family in Pune driving to Goa with their dog? They booked a normal outstation car, but halfway there realized the driver hadn't factored in any stops for water or bathroom breaks.

These kind of things happen all the time. It feels like pet travel is just an afterthought, not a real service. Know which service fits your trip? Book a pet-friendly taxi that matches your journey.
Book a Pet-Friendly Taxi

Why do people get confused about pet-friendly taxis?

Most people assume "any cab" will work for a pet. That assumption is where the trouble starts. Pet travel is not one single service, it has different types, and each type suits a different situation.

Confusion usually comes from these reasons:

Ride apps rarely show pet policy clearly before booking

"Pet-friendly" means something different for every operator

People don't realise city rides and long-distance rides for pets are not the same service

Dog owners and cat owners often need slightly different arrangements, but this is rarely explained anywhere

Pricing is not standard, so people don't know what a fair charge looks like

This guide breaks all of this down simply, so you know exactly what to expect before you book.

What is a pet-friendly taxi? (Option A)

A pet-friendly taxi is simply a regular city cab where the driver and vehicle are comfortable carrying a pet. It is built for short, everyday trips inside the same city.

Example: Priya lives in Bangalore. Her cat needs a vet visit 6 km away. A pet-friendly taxi is the right choice here as they are quick, affordable, and no special planning needed.

Key features:

Used for short trips, usually under 1–2 hours

No special vehicle setup required

Can often be booked the same day, sometimes instantly

Fare is close to a normal cab, sometimes with a small pet charge

Driver is informed about the pet before pickup

Pet-friendly taxi & Long-Distance Pet Taxi

What is a long-distance taxi for pet travel? (Option B)

A long-distance pet taxi is booked for outstation trips meaning travelling between cities. Families use this when relocating, going on a holiday, or attending an event far from home with their pet with them.

Example: Rohan is relocating from Pune to Hyderabad with his Labrador. He books a long-distance taxi in advance, with rest stops planned so the dog can walk and drink water on the way.

Key features:

Used for trips over 3-4 hours, usually between cities

Needs advance booking, ideally 1-3 days ahead

Rest stops and travel time are planned in advance

Higher fare, often a fixed package price

Vehicle may include extra space for carriers, food, and bedding

Do dogs and cats need different taxi arrangements?

This is a fair question, and the simple answer is: mostly the same taxi with slightly different handling. Both dogs and cats can travel in a pet-friendly taxi or a long-distance taxi. The difference is in comfort other then the type of service.

Example: Ananya in Chennai has both a dog and a cat. For the dog, she books a taxi with extra floor space, since he likes to sit rather than stay in a carrier. For the cat, she books the same type of taxi but keeps the cat in a covered carrier the whole ride as cats feel safer that way.

For dogs:

Larger dogs may need more floor or seat space

Calm dogs can often travel without a carrier, on a leash

Anxious dogs benefit from a blanket or their usual seat cover

Longer trips need water and toilet breaks

For cats:

Cats almost always travel better inside a covered carrier

Sudden noise or open windows can stress a cat quickly

Cats rarely need toilet breaks on short trips, but long trips need a small litter setup

A familiar towel or toy inside the carrier helps reduce anxiety

Quick comparison: City pet taxi vs long-distance pet taxi

Before comparing, know what exactly is being compared: how each option handles trip length, booking time, cost and comfort for the pet. This helps you match the option to your actual trip, not just the label.

This allows for better preparation of the taxi with proper accessories/carrier if needed.

Is the long distance taxi going to be safe with a frightened animal?

Yes if rests are planned according to the animal's needs, if they feel secure enough to use a normal, familiar carrier, or are just used to the traveling. Discuss a bit with the dispatch operator and make sure the appropriate car will be sent.

Do all drivers welcome pet taxi animals in their cab?

Not all. Some are still reluctant so do inquire to make sure a proper taxi will pick your animal up from the outset, and don't assume a non-pet friendly driver on arrival.

Does a long distance pet taxi cost more than a non-pet related journey?

It tends to cost a bit more because the additional steps associated with long distances and potentially preplanned rests, in addition to preparing the right taxi, account for higher pricing to provide additional comfort for your animal.

Is it possible to use a taxi with two animals?

Typically yes as you will indicate there is more than one pet, which the operator will allow a large enough cab and properly configured carrier.

Does it required paperwork to take an animal on city trips?

Typically no, unless you're going long distance which may include a vaccination certificate.

How is an uneasy animal to be handled during city transit?

Make sure the animal is close to the owner, maybe bring along a familiar toy or blanket. You should also not have loud noises.

Can older/sick animals use the long distance taxi service?

Yes with the appropriate number of rests, it should be mentioned during the booking process if your pet is old or unwell.

Raksha Bandhan 2026: Why a Family Trip Can Be the Perfect Gift

Searching for unique Raksha Bandhan gift ideas? Brothers hunt for gifts, sisters grab any rakhi, and the day is usually just a fast gift and sweets swap before people go back to their normal lives. If that sounds familiar, you're not the only one. Lots of families are asking what this holiday truly means.

This year, Raksha Bandhan is on a Friday, August 28. Since it's on a weekend, it's easier to plan more than just a rakhi and sweets. Short family trips, a day or two nearby, or a nice weekend trip, that's what siblings really recall. Planning a Rakhi getaway?
Book an Outstation Cab
Why Siblings Are Choosing Experiences Over Traditional Rakhi Gifts

Yes, wallets, watches, and chocolates are fine, but so many siblings live far apart now. Raksha Bandhan is one of the few times everyone's in the same place. A trip gives you actual time together. Instead of an hour before someone has to run to the airport, you get a full day or two with nothing pressing. Travel agents and therapists agree: shared experiences stick with you longer than things, because they come with a story, not just a price tag.

Planning a Family Getaway Around Raksha Bandhan 2026

how to travel on this rakshabandhan

You don't need a huge budget or a week off. You don't want the travel to eat up all your time.

Book your travel and place to stay a few weeks in advance, Raksha Bandhan weekend is busy at popular spots.

Don't overschedule. One or two things a day is plenty, leaving room for those chats that just don't happen on video calls.

Bring the rakhi and sweets along. The ceremony still happens, just with a nicer view than the living room.

Sorting Out Local Travel: Cab Booking and Taxi Booking Made Simple

Getting where you need to go, and then getting around once you're there, is the hard part for most families. Airport taxis, hotels, and day trips get expensive fast. Trying to sort out different drivers at each place gets old fast. That's why a good taxi service is worth it. Need a cab after driving a while, for a quick trip, or to hit temples all day on Raksha Bandhan? Having just one number to call, not five, makes the whole thing way less of a headache.

CabBazar does outstation rides, airport pickups, and local taxis on all the main routes. Their prices are upfront and the drivers know the area. Booking your Raksha Bandhan cab early means you won't fight with drivers at a busy stand while your family waits with luggage.

Planning your Raksha Bandhan trip? CabBazar has outstation cabs, airport transfers, and local taxis. No worries for Raksha Bandhan. The monsoon's done its thing: waterfalls are flowing, everything's fresh and green, and the reservoirs are full. The really bad parts of the rains is flooded roads, fog so thick you can't see and trails full of leeches. It is mostly over by the end of monsoon. What's left is this short, sweet time, basically from the end of September through November, when both places look amazing and are actually nice to walk around.

This guide explains why now's the perfect time to visit, where you definitely need to go, how to get there. You will also find answers to common traveler questions before you book clearing all your doubts. Planning a post-monsoon getaway?
Book Your Lonavala & Mahabaleshwar Cab
Why Late September to November Is the Ideal Time to Visit

It's usually between about 18°C and 26°C during the day and way less humid than July and August. The rains also become rare reducing the risk. This means photos come out clearer, treks are on dry ground, and you won't deal with road blocks from landslides that happen on the Mumbai-Pune and Pune-Mahabaleshwar roads during heavy rain.

There are fewer people as well. The busiest monsoon months (July-August) provide tons of weekend visitors to places like Bhushi Dam mostly because that's when the waterfalls are on full flow. Once the rain calms down, the casual day-trippers drop off but the scenery is still beautiful. Reservoirs stay full well till November, and the hills stay green for months after the last rain. If you go early or during the week, you can even have these viewpoints to yourself.

Lonavala Post-Monsoon: Clear Ghats, Full Lakes, and Firmer Trails

Lonavala is in the Sahyadri mountains, about 65 km from Pune and 100 km from Mumbai on the old highway. It's easy to reach for a weekend or day trip by car or train.

Best Viewpoints to Catch Clear Valley Views

Tiger's Point (Tiger Leap): You get this huge view from the cliff edge over the Sahyadri valley. Everything looks way better once the monsoon fog clears away.

Lion's Point: Go around sunrise if you can. You get these layered views of the hills without the afternoon crowds.

Duke's Nose: It's this really distinct cliff that hikers and photographers like a lot, especially with a sky that's clear after the rains.

Waterfalls, Lakes, and Forts Worth the Detour

After the monsoon, things get a lot calmer and safer at Bhushi Dam. They usually shut it down during the heavy rains because of past problems, so going from late September onwards actually makes more sense. Pawna Lake, the one with the hills all around and where people like to camp, looks its best when it's full and the banks are green. History and hiking fans, check out Lohagad Fort and Rajmachi Fort. The ground is firmer and less slippery once it starts drying out, making the climbs way safer than in the middle of the rain.

Mahabaleshwar Post-Monsoon: Misty Viewpoints and Fresh Strawberries

Mahabaleshwar, which is about 120 km south of Lonavala and 260 km from Mumbai, sits higher up in the Western Ghats. It's different after the monsoon. The air is cooler, the forests are thicker, and you come for more than just the views because it's harvest season.

Strawberry Season: A Local Highlight

Mahabaleshwar's strawberry farms start picking when the monsoon dies down. Lots of farms around Panchgani and Mapro Garden let you pick fruit yourself. See stalls with fresh strawberries and cream, plus homemade jams and syrups. This season really makes the visit special. You won't get this in the summer or during the heavy rains.

Viewpoints and Lakes That Open Up After the Rains

Arthur's Seat is called the 'Queen of Points' because it drops sharply into the valley. The view gets a lot better after the monsoon.

Elphinstone Point and Wilson Point are good for sunrise over the hills, especially when the fog starts lifting earlier.

Venna Lake is back to normal with boating once the water is stable and the paths are dry.

Cooler mornings and mist give amazing vibes for walks, nature trails and short hikes around Pratapgad Fort.

Planning the Trip: Cab Booking and Taxi Booking Made Simple

Both places have winding roads in western ghat area called ghat roads. It's part of the appeal but you need to properly plan the drive. You can drive yourself but most people from Mumbai or Pune prefer to book a taxi. That way, they can see the views and enjoy the road trip and scenery to the fullest.

Getting from Lonavala to Mahabaleshwar, or back, is a hassle. The trip sucks if your travel is not sorted. There are no direct trains and you can't even get an instant cab. So, if you want to see both places without losing a whole day just to travel, booking a cab for whole trip makes perfect sense.

What to Look for When Booking a Cab

Book one-way or round-trip based on whether Lonavala and Mahabaleshwar are part of the same trip.

The drivers, they know the ghat roads. That's good, especially when there's fog early morning or a bit of rain after the monsoon.

The price is what you see, no extra charges for tolls or waiting.

You can book stops at viewpoints, lakes, or forts when you reserve.

CabBazar lets you book a cab from Mumbai or Pune to Lonavala and Mahabaleshwar. Expect exhibit booths, live demos, talks with doctors and officials, and some business mingling. The Ministry of AYUSH and others back it. Last year, they had the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and some top AYUSH officials show up.

IHWE 2026 Ticket Booking and Entry Details

Want to go to IHWE 2026? The summer dust clears out, the lakes fill up, and the Aravalli hills look this really deep, green color for a while. Thinking of hitting Rajasthan? Right after the rains is a solid choice. Here are some practical tips on weather and getting around Udaipur. Planning a Udaipur trip after the monsoon? Book your cab in advance and make getting around the city easier.
Book a Udaipur Cab
Why Post-Monsoon Is the Best Time to Visit Udaipur

Udaipur is all about its lakes and the season feels way more important here than in other Indian cities. After the rains stops Lake Pichola and Fateh Sagar Lake are full to the brim. This changes the whole city views and feel of the city to very different. Going out on Lake Pichola boats gives you better reflections of the City Palace and Jag Mandir. The steps leading down to the water, which can be cracked and dry in the summer heat, are lush again. Local people of Udaipur will tell you the same thing that from September to early November is when Udaipur looks best in pictures and much nicer to walk around the city.

Udaipur Weather After Monsoon: What to Actually Expect

Daytime temprature in September and October are usually between 25°C and 33°C. By November, it gets much cooler and dropping into the high teens at night. The air is also not as humid as during the monsoon, and rains are also rare after the first couple of weeks of October. You should wear light cottons during the day and can put on a light jacket or shawl for rooftop in the evenings. Also pack comfy shoes for walking palaces and the old town and exploring the local culture of the city. It's a good idea to have an umbrella through late September just in case of a random shower, but after that, you probably won't need it.

10 Best Places to Visit in Udaipur Post-Monsoon

top 10 places in udaipur

1. The Udaipur airport is approximately 22 km away from the city center. Moreover as October and November being the wedding and Diwali period in India, tourists are found travelling around this month in larger number hence it will be a sensible decision to pre-book your vehicle well in advance to have a comfortable and trouble free transfer. Airport cabs generally provide better and safe commute to you late at night and you don't need to get it to negotiate with taxis at the arrival airport. For getting around town like: the palaces, dinner by the lake, or day trips, get a local cab with a set daily or half-day rate. It is much better than paying for individual auto rides.

That's where CabBazar fits in. Need a ride from the airport, a city tour, or a trip to Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur? CabBazar gives you prices upfront. Drivers know the post-monsoon routes, and which roads might still be rough from the rain. Book your car online with CabBazar before the busy October-November period.

Visiting Udaipur? Get your airport taxi or city cab through CabBazar. Book a table if you want a view of the lake. Mornings are the quietest for the City Palace, before the tour groups show up. The light on the water's also best for photos before 9 AM. If you visit in October, watch for local festivals. Udaipur often has a Mewar Festival around Navratri with parades and boat stuff on Lake Pichola that you can plan around.

Raksha Bandhan 2026: Date, Muhurat, Significance and the Best Way to Get Home for the Celebration

Planning for Raksha Bandhan 2026? The shubh muhurat, is usually 5:57 AM to 9:48 AM IST. It might be a little different depending on your city. As the dates are figured out by the moon, it's smart to double-check the exact time for where you live closer to the date.

The Significance of Raksha Bandhan: More Than Just a Thread

Raksha Bandhan means 'bond of protection'. Sisters tie the rakhi (sacred thread of love and care) on their brothers' wrists. It's a symbol of love and wanting to protect them in all situations. Brothers promise to back up their sisters, every time. The whole thing usually involves an aarti, putting a tilak of roli and rice on their foreheads and giving gifts and sweets. It is celebrated more in Northern and Western India, but now everyone celebrates, even people living far away. Siblings travel long distances or mail rakhis just to be part of it somehow.

Raksha Bandhan 2026 Falls on a Long Weekend: Time to Plan a Family Trip

Plan your family trip with CabBazar

Raksha Bandhan in 2026 is on a Friday giving most of us a three-day weekend. Long festival weekends usually has more traffic and full booking, so booking travel early saves waiting till the last minute and any surge pricing.

Ideas for the weekend:

Forget a day trip, take your siblings on a short break somewhere close.

If the whole family can't get together, just have a staycation.

Book your time off and tickets a week ahead to stop prices from jumping.

If grandparents or young kids are with you, add an extra day to your travel.

Getting Home on Time: Why Advance Cab Booking Matters This Rakhi

Festival weekends really stress out transportation, and Raksha Bandhan is no different. Onam is the biggest festival in Kerala and it’s literally an entire state-wide welcome home. All roads lead to their hometowns, all market places are brimming with flowers and leaves and places such as Kochi (Cochin) become entirely joyful. If you are planning on being in Kerala for Onam 2026, then dates, event tips, and travel advice are below.
Book Your Kerala Cab
When is Onam 2026?

Onam 2026 dates are based on the Malayalam solar calendar, so they shift a bit each year. Here's the rundown:

Atham (festival starts): Monday, August 17, 2026

First Onam: Tuesday, August 25, 2026

Thiruvonam (main day): Wednesday, August 26, 2026

Third Onam: Thursday, August 27, 2026

Fourth Onam: Friday, August 28, 2026

Thiruvonam is the big one, the most important day of the ten-day celebration. Kerala gets a public holiday then, plus the days around it. Since Onam is set by the month of Chingam and the Thiruvonam star, not the lunar cycle, its date stays pretty consistent in late August most years, unlike some other festivals.

The Story Behind Onam

Onam celebrates the yearly return of King Mahabali. People remember him as a super fair and generous king. The story goes Lord Vishnu, as Vamana, sent King Mahabali to the underworld but he visits yearly. Onam is that visit. It's also a harvest festival, happening after the monsoon when the paddy is ready to be harvested. So, food, plenty, and thankfulness are central to it.

How Onam is Celebrated

traditional food, Decoration, Sport and Dance

The festival builds over ten days, with each part having its own meaning.

Onam Sadya is a vegetarian meal with 20+ dishes on a banana leaf. They get bigger and more complex as the festival goes on.

There are snake boat races, called Vallamkali, especially the Nehru Trophy Boat Race down in Alappuzha.

Pulikali and Kathakali, are traditional dances and performances. They really come alive on the streets, particularly around Thrissur.

Planning to travel for Onam in 2026? Book your ride early

Onam week is a big deal for travel in Kerala, and everything gets jammed up. Roads near markets, temples, and where the boat races are held get super crowded. Trains and buses fill up fast, and trying to find a car at the last minute is a pain. This is true especially on Thiruvonam, the main day, and when the boat races are happening. It helps a lot to sort out your transport now, whether it's for the big Sadya meal, picking up family, or seeing the races. It means the difference between a chill festival or a totally stressful one.

Booking a cab in advance is super useful

Rides get really busy in cities like Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Alappuzha before Thiruvonam. The prices go up, and you'll wait longer to get a car the closer it gets. Booking your outstation cab or local taxi ahead of time guarantees you a ride, locks in your price, and just takes one thing off your list of festival worries.

Seriously, avoid the Onam rush. Get your CabBazar ride booked now. They do reliable outstation and local taxi bookings all over Kerala. Their prices are fixed, and they pick you up on time, even during the craziest travel days of Onam. Just book through their app or website and travel without the headache this Thiruvonam.

Some Onam travel tips to make things smoother:

Book your taxi or cab at least a week before Thiruvonam if you're traveling into or out of Kerala.

Figure out your return travel dates early. Fourth Onam, August 28th, sees tons of people heading back home.

If you're going to a snake boat race, get a cab driver who knows the local detours and where you can and can't park near the race venue.

Keep a copy of your cab booking confirmation, printed or saved on your phone. Signal can be awful in crowded spots.

If you're visiting multiple relatives for Sadya, plan those trips separately. Lots of families do short trips between homes on Thiruvonam itself.

Final Word

Onam celebrations begin on 17 August with Atham and continue till the last day, Fourth Onam, on 28 August. The 26 August is on Thiruvonam when the families visit home, gather round the same table, and share a delectable Sadya. Book your trip early, reserve your taxi booking, and have a relaxing festival experience with your family, rather than being stuck in transport queues on festive days.
Book Cab for Onam 2026
Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main day of Onam 2026?

The main day of Onam 2026 is Thiruvonam, it falls on 26th August (Wednesday).

How many days is Onam festival?

Onam is a festival celebrated for ten days, starting with Atham on 17th August 2026 to Thiruvonam on 26th August and celebrations continuing on Fourth Onam on 28th August.

Is Onam a holiday?

Yes, Keralites have a public holiday spanning through the festival from First Onam to Fourth Onam around Thiruvonam.

Why should I book cab in advance for Onam?

Heavy rush at local places are usually seen all over Kerala with visits for Sadya, family meetups and competitions like snake boat races. Hence, if you get a weekend off, it’s a pleasant drive. Jolarpettai Railway station 22kms away from Yelagiri is nearest, if you’re travelling by train. For travellers who are flying, Bengaluru (BLR) is closest airport, approx. 165kms away. Majority prefer driving by self or travelling via taxi from either Bangalore or Chennai or Vellore.

The road has a series of 14 hairpin curves all of which are best navigated by a driver who is familiar with the route to avoid any troubles. Daytime temps are usually 15°C to 27°C and Even in summer, it's still cooler than down in the plains, which is why people from Chennai use Yelagiri as a quick escape from the heat between April and June. The monsoon in July and August gets all the waterfalls going, but roads get slick and a bit risky. Avoid Driving those months? A hired car and driver is likely safer than going solo.

Getting Around Yelagiri: Taxis and Cabs

Yelagiri isn't huge, you can walk parts of it or rent a scooter. But the places you actually want to see - the trek spots, waterfalls, view points are pretty spread out. So most people just grab a local taxi for a half or full day to cover everything. Booking a taxi ahead of time from the bottom of the hills makes sense. Book ahead as weekends fill up fast.

Going to Yelagiri? Forget hassling with drivers on the street. CabBazar lets you book local or distant taxis in advance. If you're coming from Chennai, Bengaluru, or Vellore, or just want to get around the hills, CabBazar shows you clear prices first. They have drivers you can rely on and round-the-clock support, so booking is simple. Sharing a taxi is a smart move to kick off your Yelagiri visit.

Where to Stay: Hotels by the Lake

You can find places to stay in Yelagiri from cheap rooms by the bus stand to resorts out near the fruit orchards. The hotels right by Punganur Lake fill up quickest on weekends. So, if you're going between October and February, booking a room about a week or two before you arrive, along with your taxi, makes good sense.

Food and Shopping in Yelagiri

Yelagiri is famous for its fruit orchards.

Why Do People Get Confused While Choosing a Cab Option?

Most confusion comes from not knowing there are two very different ways to book an intercity cab. Apps rarely explain the difference clearly before you pay.

Fare shown on the app does not always include tolls, state tax or additional GST

"One way" is hidden under a different tab or option and navigation is hard

Drivers sometimes ask for extra cash for the return trip than shown in the final pricing

People assume round-trip is always cheaper, which is not true in many cases

Once you understand the two main options the confusion will automatically disappear.

What Is a Round-Trip (Return) Cab Booking?

A round-trip cab is booked for both directions. The same car and driver take you to your destination and bring you back to the pickup point at the end.

In this case, you pay for the full journey, including the driver's travel back (night charges if applicable) to your starting city even if you do not use that return ride yourself.

Most cab companies charge for the total kilometres the car travels, not just your one-side trip, as the driver returns empty otherwise and this cost will be added to your fare.

Example

Rohan and his family travels from Delhi to Jaipur for a 2-day family function and return home at the end. As the same cab waits for them so a round-trip booking works out simpler and much better for them.

Best when you are coming back on a fixed date

Works well for weekend trips and family functions

Same driver and car for the entire trip, which feels familiar

Difference between One-way & Round-trip

What Is a One-Way Cab Booking?

A one-way cab takes you only from Point A to Point B. You pay only for that single side of the journey.

You are not paying for the driver's return trip. The cab company adjusts this by matching your car with another passenger going the same route later.

This is possible because many people travel in both directions between the same two cities every day. Companies match these trips to avoid empty return drives, and pass the savings to you.

Example

Meera is relocating from Mumbai to Pune for a new job. She does not need the cab to bring her back, so a one-way booking saves her a large chunk of money.

Best when you are not returning on the same route soon

Ideal for relocation, drop-offs, or one-direction travel

Usually cheaper per kilometre than round-trip for a single leg

Round-Trip vs One-Way Cab: Quick Comparison

Before comparing, here is what is being compared: how each option affects your total cost, flexibility, and comfort for the same route.

How Do Real Travellers Choose Between the Two?

Whether you book a round trip or one-way cab depends on your actual trip, not just the initial price. Here are some typical situations.

Situation 1: The Weekend Family Trip

Say the Sharma family is heading from Bengaluru to Mysore for a short weekend. They need a cab for both days, including sightseeing.

A round-trip booking is probably their best bet because the car is needed on both dates, and waiting charges are built right in.

Situation 2: The One-Time Relocation

We have Arjun’s problem to solve as well. He's relocating from Chennai to Coimbatore for a job and won't be back soon.

For him, a one-way booking makes perfect sense. It's dumb to pay for a return trip he won't use.

Situation 3: The Business Traveller with an Uncertain Return

Priya is heading from Pune to Nashik for a client. She's not sure if she'll head back the same day or the next.

In this case, booking a one-way trip out and then another one-way for the return is smarter. It means she doesn't pay extra if her schedule is up in the air.

What Factors Should You Check Before Booking?

Factors to check before booking

A good decision depends on a few simple facts about your trip. Find the Most Cost-Effective Cab for Your Trip
Install App & Book Your Intercity Taxi Today
FAQs

Which day of week/time is it best to book an inter city taxi, to book at a low price?

Several days in advance booking is recommended usually, when weekends, festivals or some popular routes are to be travelled. Last-minute booking may result in shortage of cars as well as fare price during the busy time. However, the fare depends on route and taxi operator, therefore it is economical to compare prices prior to booking for booking a ride.

Can I get a less price with my taxi service by comparing taxi fare from various taxi operators?

Yes, indeed different taxi operators may charge varying fares for the same trip of similar type and capacity of the car. The sum of the fare price, excluding few add-on charges such as tolls, parking, driver charge, tax, and other applicable, should be compared to get cheaper offer.

Can it be cheaper by traveling 3-4 people by taxi rather than by train/flight?

Certainly yes, if we consider sharing taxi fare of 3-4 passengers per person which will be considerably cheap compared to individual train/flight fare plus local conveyance fares to reach or from stations. Compare overall expenditure along with luggage and transfer to reach the destination.

How can I ensure if the intercity taxi quote includes all the expenses?

Before taking service clarify fare details including tolls, state tax, parking, driver's allowance, GST and so on to ensure everything is included in the fare quoted to you. However, ask additional charges to be levied for making extra stop, stopping time and route change. It may be possible that minimum fare quoted is not the overall fare.

Fixed fare vs per km fare, which would be better for me?

A fixed fare would be helpful in budgeting because it is more predictable before travel. The per km option is more suitable when the distance/route is unknown. Whatever your choice be, read the term of services, especially minimum km, toll, driver fees and other additional waiting/stopping charges for transparent charges.

Will flexibility for pickup time lower the taxi price?

Maybe, if there's any flexibility with your journey time you could try comparing fare prices based on different pickup times; try to avoid peak hours. Nonetheless, this method may not guarantee, as the price for intercity taxi varies depending on the route, vehicle availability, service demand, and provider.

How to save money on inter-city taxi trip on peak seasons?

Book in advance and compare a few providers before demand get high. If possible, try avoid peak time (at the time of travel or departure), if feasible, try traveling one day in advance. For family trips, picking the adequate sized vehicle could also minimize the requirement to have a few more cars.

Will picking a different pickup location lower the taxi price?

Yes, sometimes. It does depend to the provider and route. The main route could be further from pickup location which increases traveling distance to driver before starting the journey. However, convenience and safety must also be taken consideration, especially when traveling with children, aged people or heavy luggage.

How do I get discounted travel in cabs during Diwali, Holi and other holidays?

Try and book in advance, as travel demand goes up drastically during important Indian holidays. Also, compare fares before booking the taxi; don’t make any changes to the trip that might result in extra charges and be aware of all add-ons.

If possible, you may want to try travelling at the fringe dates around a major holiday to make a wider range of cars available at a relatively reduced rate.

Should I book an Ertiga or sedan for better value on a family trip?

For two to three passengers with standard travel luggage, a sedan might be cost effective, but in the case where you’re traveling with three plus people or a group with a lot of baggage, it’s generally more practical to hire an Ertiga, an MPV, etc.

Will using a round trip offer better savings than booking 2 individual one-way taxi rides?

Yes, quite often, particularly if you opt for returning in the same taxi. It is always wise to take a quote for round trips before deciding, as some taxi operators offer lucrative discounts, remember to also check the total per km count or total rental duration to avail better pricing.

Are city-to-city and airport-city taxi fares different?

Yes, city-to-city taxi fares are calculated based on the specified route distance whereas airport taxi fares will include airport taxes, facility parking fees, etc. so you’ll get different quotes as each will be considered distinct by cab services companies.
